3 Questions for our CEO, Anthony Newcombe🙋❔
(1) What have you been reading recently? ❔
A: I needed a good “filler” in between books, so I grabbed A Carlin Home Companion by Kelly Carlin, the late, great comedian’s daughter. It was so interesting, I ended up delaying the one I was eagerly awaiting until I finished!
As any of my readers (Sorry, 50 is NOT the New 30) will attest, I credited George Carlin in the Introduction as one of my comedic favorites of all time! I wasn’t aware this book was available, so it was a welcomed treat to run into it by search. It is ironic how Kelly’s storytelling differs from some of George’s skits.
For example, George used to make me feel guilty for loving Steely Dan, and then, BOOM! Kelly drops a shout out for “Babylon Sisters!” (You’ll need to read it for context!) Overall, it was great to read such a candid account of “the other side of fame” via the closest witness to the star – an only child.
(2) What good causes do you want to give a shout out to today? ❔
A: This month, I’d like to share a link directly to the World Central Kitchen. Chef Jose Andres and company are doing such an incredible job feeding those in need during all the chaos and destruction going on in the world. Let’s do all we can to support causes like this one!
(3) Where would you recommend for a travel getaway destination for us? ❔
A: I’m going to start by giving you the answer my clients dislike most –” it depends.” The Outer Banks are amazing this time of year, and as far as the pricier choices, it’s hard to go wrong with Tahiti or Fiji during the springtime. At any rate, let’s just be happy with the general improvement of COVID travel conditions and hope to improve going forward.
Happy flying folks!
