Catastrophe While Traveling

3 Questions

with our CEO, Anthony Newcombe

1) Catastrophes: How do we insure against them on trips?

We’re asked this question often. If one travels long enough, eventually they will encounter what I refer to as a C.W.T. “Catastrophe While Traveling.” Nothing can disrupt a long ago planned business trip or vacation more. Worse yet, because of typical “act of God” exemptions in many standard insurance riders, it’s more likely than not a situation that is excluded by a standard policy. This can make our preparation process even more agonizing. We’ll be discussing this topic in more detail later in the year, so stay tuned. And, always remember we welcome serious inquiries to assist with your planning process!

2) What do you think of 100 degree water temperatures in Florida?

In all honesty, I think this sets up the very real possibility of even more impactful hurricanes and tornadoes than ever. Not to mention the destruction and disruption to our marine life. We are at an inflection point – and those who either fail or refuse to see it are simply missing the big picture entirely.

3) Books: What good reads do you want to share?

The Power of One – by Frances Haugen

This autobiography is a very candid and deep reflection from a young woman who had the courage to speak the truth to the powers that be. We never would have known exactly how and what actually occurred behind the scene at Facebook without the revelations of Ms. Haugen. I also liked the honesty she shared of personal struggles and the juxtaposition of those struggles throughout her quest for the truth.

There you have it for August! Hard to believe, but the next time we see each other, it will actually be the 🍂fall season – literally!! 🍂

Be well!
