- How much is jet fuel going for these days?
A: “Sorry you asked (slight chuckle). However, the truth of the matter is it’s well past $9.00 per gallon @ some of today’s FBOs (Fixed Based Operations) in the U.S. Some have even breached the double digits per gallon for Jet-A. That makes for a much more expensive trek! This actually pales by comparison to some of the fuel costs in some of the big overseas markets, but since you asked …”
2. Let’s pump the brakes a bit and change the subject to something less ominous. What are you reading now?
BANG, BANG
A: “Strangely, I just finished an amazing book on the history of cheating in baseball. In particular, it’s a deep dive on the Houston Astros in and around their championship scandal from 2017. It’s called Cheated by Andy Martino.
I guess you never know until you find out what actually goes on behind the scenes (and that includes the scoreboard, the dugout wall, inside the trash cans, etc.”
3. Thanks, but I asked for something LESS ominous. Anything else that might lift our spirits?
A: “That’s all I have for you this month. Let’s just root for the country (and the world) to pull out of this inflation tailspin we’re in now. Perhaps that and some hope to stay relatively cool and have some water show up at some point!”
